CedarWoods of Sandton is a privately owned, three-star establishment in Woodmead, Greater Sandton District, Johannesburg. Run on a family-style basis, some of our friendly staff have been part of the managerial team for nearly two decades, and a large number of our clients have built long-standing relationships.
The hotel has been operating and playing host to both hotel and conference guests under the guidance of Bermudian-born Randy Moniez since 2002. Randy has over 40 years of hospitality experience internationally and locally, having worked in establishments such as Hamilton Princess & Beach Club, Bermuda; Beau-Rivage Palace in Lausanne, Switzerland; Holiday Inn South Africa; and the Protea Hotel by Marriott Johannesburg’s Balalaika Hotel and Crown Court Sandton, as general manager.
CedarWoods of Sandton is not only a home away from home, a friendly and hospitable environment; we’re proud of our mission to become more environmentally friendly with our Green Policy. We not only concentrate on recycling, composting and reducing our carbon footprint, we also select products and services by taking into consideration their impact on the environment. We teach our staff environmentally friendly practices, both at work and at home. Encouraging our guests to be more conscious of the need for action to secure our environment for the future has also been a successful process.
The growth and development of the hotel over the past years has not only benefited the growth and development of local staff and their families, but the local community as well. It is part of our mission statement to seek out, and actively recruit and train, previously disadvantaged citizens from the local area in aspects of hospitality. In addition and in keeping with the spirit of ubuntu, we are proud to be a BEE-compliant establishment. CedarWoods has officially been rated as a Level 4 Contributor on the relevant BBBEE Small Business Scorecard.
